FLAT FEE ATTORNEY-CLIENT AGREEMENT

This document is the written fee contract that California law requires lawyers to have with their clients. Karpel Law Firm will provide legal services to you (the named person in the Square billing invoice or the client who services are being rendered to).

Said services shall be covered under this agreement per the terms set forth below:

1. CONDITIONS

This agreement will not take effect, and we will have no obligation to provide legal services, until you return a signed copy of this Agreement or accept this retainer by issuing payment.

You are hiring us as your attorneys to represent you in the following matter:

Complete Estate Plan including Will(s), Living Trust, Durable Power of Attorney, Health Directive, Certificate of Trust, Living Will, HIPAA Documents, Personal Property Memorandum, Funding Instructions, Final Remains, Quitclaim Deed and Preliminary Change of Ownership Report (if required), drafted and filed with the County Recorder (filing fees included). Professional binder and shipping are also included.

2. FUTURE SERVICES

Unless we make a different agreement with you in writing, this Agreement will govern all future services we may perform for you.

3. FLAT FEE

You agree to pay a flat fee for the above services as stated in your Square Invoice.

4. LIMITATION OF REPRESENTATION

We are representing you only on the matter described above.

5. DISCHARGE AND WITHDRAWAL

You may discharge us at any time by providing written notice. Such discharge does not relieve you of any obligation to pay costs incurred prior to termination.

6. CONCLUSION OF SERVICES

Upon completion of our services, any unpaid balance shall become immediately due. Additional legal services beyond the Flat Fee will be billed at $600 per hour.

7. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Any dispute arising from this Agreement shall first proceed to mediation through JAMS or Signature Resolution. If unresolved, the matter shall proceed to binding arbitration before a retired Judge, with costs determined by the arbitrator.
